Money Maker

This past weekend, P and I opened up our own black market side business.
We had a garage sale. Our apartment complex hosted a community wide garage sale and I was super pumped about it. I spent many hours this past week going through our junk and labeling and pricing everything.
I woke up before 6:00 A.M. and started setting up the garage for the start of the sale at 8:00 A.M. and it was awesome. And by awesome, I mean it was so much fun when no one showed up to our garage during the first hour. And by awesome, I mean out of a 3 hour stint in the garage, we had 7 people come by our little black market booth. And by awesome, I mean that we sold so much of our junk and made a whopping $40.00. And by awesome, I mean that 40.00 will probably buy about a square inch of our dream home one day! Yes, it was awesome!!
Have you ever had a garage sale? Did ya'll make any money?

Haha $40 is better than nothing!

We need to have a garage sale, but we'd have nothing to sell besides clothes.

It seems they are always more trouble than they're worth. I'm like you, i never have luck however I'm having one next next month....crossing my fingers.

That's great that you guys made $40! I've never had a garage sale, but I think that they're a good idea. The neighborhood we lived at in NC they had garage sales quite often and we would browse from time to time. Sometimes there are really good deals!

I loathe holding a garage sale. I've done it once and that was too many if you ask me. It was such a hassle and time sucking day. It works for some people but for this gal it didn't. On the bright side you made $40 that's $40 you didn't have before?

usually our stuff is so worn out by the time we get rid of it garage sales are pointless. i've found that donating it and counting it as a tax write off is far easier and we make out better on the $$$ side too.
